Oktoberfest 2006
More than 800 clients, vendors and friends of Tepel Brothers Printing Company sampled bratwurst and strudel, and enjoyed authentic entertainment by the Frankenmuth Schuhplattlers at the Troy, Michigan company’s 4th Oktoberfest the evening of Friday, September 29.
In addition to celebrating autumn with cider, caramel apples, sauerkraut and a beer tasting, the festive open house also provided an opportunity to showcase our printing plant and production facility. Of special interest was the new Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 102 five-color printing press with custom in-line UV capabilities.
Jim and Harriet thrilled guest Laura Jerome when her name was pulled for the grand door prize, a trip for two to Munich, Germany; other lucky guests received a Detroit Red Wings Hockey Package, Pistons Basketball Package, ipod/Bose package, His ‘N’ Hers Dell Laptops, David Yurman ladies necklace, a limo party for eight at the German-themed Dakota Inn in Detroit, and a Somerset Collection $1,000 shopping spree.
April 2006 - Jim Tepel tours Heidelberg plant in Germany
Jim Tepel, president of Tepel Brothers Printing Co., joined a select group of print owners from across the United States for a tour of the Heidelberg factory in Heidelberg, Germany. The guests also visited some of the leading commercial printing plants in Germany, Belgium and England. “It was a phenomenal experience”, said Tepel. “We spent a lot of time talking to the people we met on the tour and to each other. Having the opportunity to discuss the print business with the best in the world has been invaluable. I learned a lot, and I also felt proud that our company stands up with the best of them. We are not lagging in any technologies or trends; in fact, I would say we are among the leaders.” The trip finished with a visit to the IPEX show in Birmingham, England to attend the world’s second largest print expo and observe first-hand the latest innovations in graphic arts.
