Capabilities
Tepel Brothers Printing Company is one of the largest sheetfed printers in the State of Michigan and we are among the top 400 printers in the United States. We feature Heidelberg equipment in both the pressroom and bindery. Our press sizes range from 40” all the way down to our small press department, which gives us the ability to handle any sized project both large and small. Our bindery department features state-of-the-art technology and has capabilities that even some bindery services do not offer, such as in-house die cutting and inline folding/gluing. We are a licensed MetalFX Printer. MetalFX is a unique multi-color process that incorporates the use of metallic underprints and the transparent nature of conventional ink to achieve strikingly dramatic effects. We are one of only a few printers in the U.S to be a licensed MetalFX printer. We are the only sheetfed printer in southeast Michigan that is able to print with inline U.V. capabilities.
Leading Edge Technology
We have invested in the latest technology that allows us to keep pace with the ever changing improvements that have occurred in the printing industry. One example is the Heidelberg Image Control system. This is a color measurement system that is capable of analyzing the entire printed image and will alert the operator as to any deviation from defined reference values. The system then determines what adjustments need to be made and will apply these adjustments electronically to the press with just the press of a button. This technology makes traditional color bars obsolete and Tepel Brothers Printing Company is the only company in the State of Michigan that has invested in the Heidelberg Image Control System. This system assures the highest level of color consistency throughout the entire run from the very first sheet to the last.
Our technology resources don’t stop there. We also have invested in CIPS3 which allows us to interface departments and link job information directly to presses, cutters and folders and also stores this information for future reorders. This reduces make ready times by as much as 75% and reduces paper waste by as much as 50%. We also use the Hybrid Liso screening technology which uses a 280 line screen. This offers a cleaner crisper image while still printing richer color reproduction. Commercial printing has now evolved in to a technology driven industry and Tepel Brothers Printing Company has invested in the very latest that the industry has to offer.
Investing in Quality
While many printing companies talk about quality, we realize the importance of investing in the tools that actually contribute to our quality. We “profile” our presses on a regular basis so that we can calibrate our pre-press processes according to printing characteristics of each press. We carry this practice even further by establishing profiles on various substrates so that we can print with accuracy on different papers and plastics. This practice is both expensive and time consuming; however the payoff is in the end result: our satisfied customers and numerous awards.
